2020 Dale Huff Outstanding Program Award Announcement

We're pleased to announce the 2020 recipient of the Dale Huff Outstanding Program Award is the Cape Elizabeth School Department. This program has been expanding and improving over the years, and has an amazing offering to its students.

It's important that we mention that school systems in affluent areas, like Cape Elizabeth, don't always boast outstanding music and performing arts programs. There are plenty of examples of school systems with substantial financial resources that have inadequate arts education (They won't be mentioned here). Of course, having proper funding doesn't hurt (facilities, faculty, etc.), but it's the culture of TOTAL education that the community and the school administration MUST have to ensure a proper program. This is what makes Cape Elizabeth (and our other award recipients) successful. Believe it or not, even small school systems in less affluent areas can have a strong program.
