ABOUT DALE F. HUFF
Dale's music education career, which extended upwards of 40 years, defined him as a "music educators, music educator". His primary focus was on the students, and providing them with a total, well-rounded educational experience. This created lifelong music lovers and some amazingly talented and successful musicians. His secondary (and almost as important) focus, was the music education community throughout the State of Maine. Dale was a member of the Maine Music Education Association (MMEA), and was very involved in MMEA activities such as the All-State Festival and the Maine State Jazz Festival. Most of all, he was a strong proponent of full, K-12 performing arts programs. Dale understood that this investment in students not only makes them better musically, but better academically as well. He was a pioneer in these endeavors early in his career, and became a trusted mentor to up-and-coming teachers in his latter years.Dale's passing in 2016 marked the end of a very important era in Maine music education. It is the intention of this fund to continue Dale's legacy and carry his excellence on to future generations.
