Dale Huff Fund Helps Music Programs After Hurricane Michael

The devastating effects of Hurricane Michael did a number on the Panama City Beach area in the fall of 2018. One story that doesn't make the headlines is the loss of musical instruments in the school systems due to severe damage. As we all know, budgets are tight enough for school music programs, so replacing these instruments after this type of tragedy is quite difficult. And in case you're wondering about insurance claims, they don't typically cover everything.

My good friend and Hell Yeah! Horns compadre, Josh Scalf and his wife Samantha initiated a fundraiser to help replace some of the instruments lost for the schools in the PCB area. Josh is from PCB, so this was a particularly important effort for him.

Along with instrument donations by KHS Musical Instruments Co. (Mapex Drums, Jupiter Winds, etc.) and private donations, the Dale Huff Fund was proud to donate $500 to this effort. The total value of everything collected was approximately $12,000 according to Josh (Nice job buddy!). We wish we could have contributed more.

If you wish to help out with situations like what happened with Hurricane Michael, or to help students' arts education through scholarships and music program support, please take a moment to donate. Your generous contribution will be greatly appreciated.
